Monkey On

http://monkeyon.com/monkeys/new
For the last emerging technology I used Monkey On. This is a really neat program because you can e-mail reminders and tasks to people without having to go to your e-mail account. It will also send you reminders when the task or "monkey" is due. You are also able to go and manage your tasks. This is a great tool for teachers to be able to remind others about meetings or field trips or any other tasks that might show up. This is a really helpful tool to keep organized and be able to reach out to others for help on any tasks which, when I become a teacher, will probably need all the help I can get to be organized. This is pretty self explanatory when you go on there. The only thing that I still actually don't understand on this site is the sections that say "Monkey's on your back." I haven't figured out how to put tasks on that section instead of automatically going to the send monkey section. Besides that though I think that this is a pretty neat site.

Living Memory

http://www.livingmemory.com/members/Slideshow.aspx?AlbumId=14811
This is use of the photo share technology using Living Memory. You are able to upload photos and share them with other people by putting there e-mail address under the shared list. As I said in a previous blog, I like to share photos so I think that this is a really neat site. It is especially useful if you want to share a whole album of photos with someone so you don't have to down load all the pictures to the e-mail you can just "share" it with them and then later on if someone else comes that wants to see the album you can just add them so it and again will save you from having to down load each picture again. I have not used a site like this before. Living Memory is a pretty user friendly site. I was a little confused at first because when i wanted to add photos it was making me automatically do a profile album before I could make another album. My advice is to just explore it. as i said before it is pretty user friendly. You can name your albums so you can separate your photos however you want.

RSS Feed

At first I had trouble with finding sights that had the RSS feed on them but I eventually was able to narrow my search enough to find it. I like this ability and think it is a neat way to be able to keep track of things. I posted the feeds on my blog so you can take a look at what I found.

Pod Cast "Over in the Medow"

Gabcast! Over in the Medow #1

This is a Pod Cast of me reading the children's book "Over in the Meadow." Pod Cast is basically an audio recording of something. This technology could be useful, specifically for teachers, if you are going over something in class and want to make sure you record it so that students can later go and listen to it again for review. It can also be good for teachers if you are having an interview with someone that you would like to have as a guest speaker in the class room but wouldn't be able to show up. You can do the interview at a convenient time for the speaker and then record it and play it back for the students in the classroom. I used "Gab Cast." This is a pretty user friendly sight. I liked it because you can use your phone and don't need a microphone on your computer to do it. One suggestion I have is pay attention to what you need to do to end your recording. I had to set up another account because I wasn't paying attention to what i needed to do so when i was done I just hung up and wasted the minutes.

Me, Myself, and I

For those of you who do not know me, my name is Stacy Forgacs. I was born and raised in California. I met my husband while working at Disneyland. We moved to Indiana almost three years ago. I have two dogs, a beagle and a German Shepherd/American Eskimo mix. This is my first time using blogger and so far it seems really fun. It got easier to use once I got familiar with the layout. I guess that is my tip for new users that come in, don't get overwhelmed and take the time to familiarize yourself with the layout. As you can see by this page, I really like the ability to show pictures. Using blogger will be interesting because I wasn't very good at keeping a diary when i was a little girl. I would put a few things down and then get board with it. I will try not to put any boring stuff on this though. Hope you will enjoy.
